BBB Scholarship Information 

Since the purpose of this organization is to Educate and Socialize; the group voted to offer a Scholarship to a Woman who needs an Education Degree to re enter the work force.

We are a new organization and have put together a committee to determine the BOOMER BABES AND BEYOND SCHOLARSHIP qualifications and to name the event to honor and award the recipient.

SECOND SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED

 At our 2011 Holiday party on December 6th, held at the Republic Grill, we awarded our largest scholarship for $4,000 to a very appreciative recipient, Harley Gruwell.

Harley attends National University and is in her final year of completing her surgical nursing degree to get promoted in the Doctor's group she works with.

She was supported by her husband that night.

This is a dream she has wanted to achieve for quite some time and the Boomer Babes and Beyond are helping her do this.

Thanks to Scholarship Chair, Dr. Camille Falkner and her committee made up of Terry Robertson, Helene Reilly, Vickie Tarentino and Lorri Jackson who reviewed the 12 applications and narrowed the recipient to Harley.  It was a hard decision.

      FIRST SCHOLARSHIP                  AWARDED  

 Maria Thurman, first Boomer Babes and Beyond Scholarship recipient was awarded her $2500 scholarship to complete her School Nursing Degree at the December  Holiday Dinner held at the Green Valley Ranch Italian Restaurant.   Thanks to our Scholarship Committee headed by Chair Darci Paloni who worked hard to judge the 15 applications received and select the best applicant to receive the award.

Thank you for choosing me for the Boomer Babes and Beyond scholorship.  My aunt and I had a great time.  I am doing great in school and awaiting for my son to come home from the navy.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE:

The SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE works hard to award a Re-Entry Program College Scholarship to a worthy Woman.

LISA CRINER has graciously volunteered to Chair this Committee.  Members who have volunteered to help include Terry Robertson, Helene Reilly and Lorri Jackson 2012.  2010 Lily Devos, and Helene Reilly.

 ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP

Our Scholarship is awarded by our Boomer Babes and Beyond Committe Judges based on the Merit of need submitted on the application; the applicant must be a woman reentering the workforce after years out of school, attending a college or university in Southern Nevada and working on a degree program to advance in their career.  It is required that  the Scholarship Recipient come to our Holiday Party meeting to accept the Scholarship by telling us about themselves and their goals; and meet the membership.
